The youth soccer calendar runs from August 1st-July 30th, and includes a Fall and Spring season.

U.S. Youth Soccer organizes player age groups by birth year. South Middleton Soccer Association, along with our league and state associations, utilize the same method for determining eligibility for programs and team placement. Age groups apply for a full soccer year which includes both Fall to Spring seasons, and  is determined based on the child’s birth year.

Birth year registration is based on the year in which the season ends. For example, if a season begins in the fall of 2023 and ends in the spring of 2024 (ex: 2023-2024 season), the players would be registered based on their age in the year 2024.

To simplify determining the age group, just subtract the birth year from the year the season ends.

e.g. Year Season Ends – Birth Year = Age Group:

• 2023-2024 (Season) – 2016 (Birth Year) = U8 (Age Group)

Players tryout for teams that compete in the local Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League.

RISING KICKERS - U7 & U8

Players continue to build on game fundamentals and begin to learn positioning on a larger field. This program builds a solid foundation and transition for players "Rising" up to the Travel program the following year.
